Focus on the last edition, Brest 2016!

If the 2012 edition was the one of all the superlatives, anniversary obliges, the 2016 edition of the international maritime festivals of Brest will remain in the memories. Due to the economic context, the organization and all the actors competed with ingenuity and creativity to offer the public an exceptional show!

1,050 boats present, 9,000 sailors from 40 countries, 3,000 volunteers, 1,500 musicians…

Both on the quays and in the harbor, the show offered to the visitors was of great beauty: The Hermione at the foot of the castle, the Mexican and Argentinean school ships in Penfeld, the Bagad de Lann Bihoué on the big stage, the historical monument boats and the SNSM boats, the night parades and the fireworks, the demonstrations of the French Navy, the flotillas turning around in front of the public, the astonishing collection of the “Toiles de mer”, the visits aboard the Portuguese and Russian boats, the Polynesian dances and the English brass bands… and all under a generous sun. The day ended with a night parade of sails of almost an hour, in the port of Brest, on the theme of the waltz of the rigging.
